Why are people messengering me on Facebook, saying that they are interested in buying something I posted on there,

then when I tell them that the item is available, they never reply back like they just happened to mispress the Messenger button, alerting me that they are interested. It makes no sense.

People on there do that crap all the time.
What really bites is when one of the perspective buyers is some hood rat looking character with his mouth gaping open and weed smoke coming out. The kind of guy you wouldn't want to do business with over a stick of gum.

Tell me about it..I’m trying to sell on gumtree too and it’s pretty much the same

@SW-User The tire kickers really come out with online sales sites.
I would say the best place to buy and sell online is amazon and ebay. Tire kickers are minimal.

@CestManan yeah it’s annoying as hell

@SW-User Get this though - somehow the tables have turned back and once again craigslist is one of the better free sites to sell things.
Of course their freebie section is full of time wasters but the last couple times I sold things on CL, there were very few time wasters.

Of course YMMV but it seems maybe it is the way to go once again for free sites.
Omg i did that the other day.. i wanted the thing but my husband wouldn't let me 😬😳

Pretty much the same on Craigslist...or just no interest at all...unless it's free!
