EP experinece vs SW experience?

People who have crossed platforms, what are your experiences with both? How are they similar or different?
EP was a free for all, but much more diversity and connection. The trolls were more thoughtful and funny. This place sucks. There’s cool people, but you can’t post like you could on EP.

The advantage of sw is that it's like a village, where everyone knows everyone, so it's more amicable. Ep on the other hand was like a big city, not quite a metropolitan one on the level of facebook, but still big enough that you had lots if stuff to see and visit, with a huge variety of people and niche groups.

@SW-User there were people that got special treatment on EP too. There was a huge drama around that dont u remember? I'm not gonna say any names obviously, I dont even remember most of them, but they got many "trolls" banned.
Idk about "liked and supported more", that's subjective, because I think it's the opposite. Depends on individual experiences I suppose.

@Dan193 there was more genuine people on Ep. Here it’s just show off worlds. I know Ep had a lot of garbage in it but I never felt alone on there unlike here where most people pretend to be a friend with one message then they disappear. Only less than a handful here actually reach out to me. It’s ok, I don’t take this site seriously. I’m just here to waste time until I get a life.

@SW-User well we had a ton more people there, to find those "genuine connections", and also lots of show offs and megalomaniacs. Just comes back to me comparison of village and big city.
On EP it was easier to find like-minded people and to have conversations that lasted weeks or months. The browsing on SW is less frustrating but people come and go much more quickly.

ep was infinitely better. it was also much more faster paced. i get bored so easily here, can’t stay more than a few mins

Thank you all for the insight. I browsed EP years ago and it seemed like, what I would consider, a community for the golden age of the internet

@Funkyfreakshow Yep. And this is like the dumping ground of the internet.

Ep was soo much more exciting. You had plenty of people to interact with and not everyone knew each other. On here it’s like a little snotty village where only the the favorite jerks are well liked. It’s like the 7th grade filled with immaturity. The annoying popular people never leave. Ironically, the popular people from Ep didn’t stay in this site and I understand why. They couldn’t stand how dull and boring most people here are with the 25-30 age group taking over the site and turning it into a graveyard. 🙄
Anything went on EP. There are rules here but it's not bad. I think admin is just trying make everyone happy. That's why the settings. If everyone respects them we'll all be happy.

Sw admins made too many "improvements" ... The customised feed sucks imo.. There was a lot more funny and intelligent people in ep days
SW Is, or rather was, a bit like EP.
EP was freer, wierder and faster.

Sw has become so PC so pandering to the fragiles its slowed nearly to a halt .
And the feed is strangled to feed us what their algorythm thinks we want .

I miss the old days .....or both 😔
The broken feed has made the overall experience much worse on here

I think SW is more technically sound.
@Dino11 agreed, though sadly at the expense of being socially sound.

EP was an awesome place till 2012. It went downhill after a book was released on EP the same year. It attracted the multitudes...
bookerdana · M
EP was larger, generally more polite responses and as for my experience more fun...people were less uptight...
There were similarities, but I’ve been away from EP for six years. I suspect that a lot of people romanticize it because it’s gone. I’m fine with SW.

This place is small and if you aren’t well liked here you will be run off of the site.

SW is nothing like EP at all anymore.
Unquestioned · 70-79, M
No contest, EP wins hands down, it's a completely different league.

@Lilnonames small correction there: SW never kicked EP to the curb. The team of EP decided to close up and then the team of SW started working on an alternative. But other than that: yeah, it's nothing like EP anymore, in some good and some bad ways.
