Ugh! Forgot to mention that the day after I stepped on a bumble bee and got stung on my right instep I did it again but this time it was my left big toe. Neither are painful but they are itching more now than when it happened. I inspected the sites before I got out of bed and they are slightly redder than the surrounding skin. It's quite annoying and made it harder to get to sleep last night.

Does anyone know how long this takes to fade away? Is there likely to be anything at the chemist that I can apply to reduce it?

If you ever get a sting, ingrown hair, splinter etc...make a simple poultice of 50/50 old fashioned bar soap mixed with white sugar. Apply and cover with a plaster and it draws out any foreign object and infection.
@meggie I mix salt with triple antibiotic ointment and spread it on a bandage, that's how I got metal splinters out when I was a machinist.

@NativePortlander1970 ouch! I'm sure there's other poultices that work. Yours is probably even better having antibiotic cream to kill infection. My grandmother taught me the sugar and soap one, and it works well.

@NativePortlander1970 @meggie I don't think my slight bee stings warrant the complication of bandages and poultices. It was less irritating last night so i think it will fade away completely in the next day or two. Once I get up and walking i forget about it completely.
@meggie Both the salt and triple A pulls any infections out.
@ninalanyon They're not complications, two minutes to make, tops.

@NativePortlander1970 Wearing them is a complication though.
@ninalanyon just a simple bandage is all

@NativePortlander1970 Annoying though when I'm barefoot :-)
@ninalanyon Deal with it

@NativePortlander1970 Like I said to @turbineman40 it's already on the wane so no need for anything.
@ninalanyon Whatever

@NativePortlander1970 it's better than hopping around on one leg!! A relative in Australia died from a bee sting in a few mins, so you have to be careful
@meggie (((((HUGS))))) I am so very sorry :( I have a cousin that's alergic, he carries an epi.
