What's the most popular app for writing with friends online in the US?

I can understand your views. And first time i heard this aspect of the situation.

@WandererTony I guess you will only hear about this from women who's men are in danger of conscription, and most Ukrainians do not even speak English. This is a problem inside the country itself, and people are obviously not going to say it out loud because they are hiding in the first place. It is fine for me to talk about on SW because I don't have my location or real identity connected to this account in any way.

@WandererTony I think some Americans (some, definitely not all), think and talk like that guy above, because they just have no idea what they are asking of people. They are basically asking people to die for little to no reason. They think life is a movie, or at least comparable to US military. It is very different. It is a very tragic situation.

@Nightwings I stand corrected, but I'm using the second tier which is 500MB for $10/month. If you are just sharing photos and small things like that you won't need that much.

@YoMomma I feel the other way around. I don't like using SW too often, but I do like staying in touch with my close friends, so I need an app without social media for that. 😄

@YoMomma Facebook is owned by Meta, and they gather information like crazy. Stay well clear of Facebook if you are worried about security.

@CountScrofula Uh I'll never dare use Telegram, I'm terrified someone mentions my address on there, and they find my husband lol. I don't trust it when they say it's perfectly encrypted, with everything going on nowadays, considering it's the main Russian app. 😅

I've been getting a bit into Discord lately! 😊

I don't like FB because it's social media, and I don't use Telegram because it's mainly used in Russia, so I don't trust it. Is WhatsApp popular in the US? Does it compress sent images?

@Nightwings Telegram is harmless. Lots of people here in the US use it.
Same with WhatsApp. Nothing bad. It's simple and convenient. Have fun. ☺

@Zonuss Telegram claims to be encrypted I know, but it's not worth the risk for me. They could end up finding my husband. WhatsApp seems like a good choice if it doesn't compress image files, and can send a reasonable amount different file types, so I guess I gotta try that out myself.
