🛍 How often do you feel Buyer’s Remorse?

It’s this impulsive feeling of buying something thinking you want it, or even need it.

But then after buying it, you start wondering why you bought it in the first place.

Sometimes .... not often .... I have to remember WHY I bought it in the first place ... revisit that motivation and utilize it .... the urgency of the purchase decision may not be there but it may be useful anyway ....
@AllAboutLaffs
Not laughing at you. A tile saw might be something I would buy for project I probably would back out from. 😅
AllAboutLaffs · 80-89, M
@CookieCrumbs Yeah ... once I thought tiling the kitchen and dining room floor ALL THE WAY THROUGH, I retreated .... but I still have a really nice tile saw .... so there is that ... 😁
@AllAboutLaffs
Ahhh so you kept it as a reminder of your Grandiose Flooring project… a trophy for the intent. 😂 I get it!

It’s the same feeling I will have if I buy a size “small” dress. 😌
Lately I gave in to my father's suggestion of buying apparels, get stitched my way as he knows i always preferred it that way.
Mistakenly I heard him and stuff just sits in a corner. Guess I need to get rid of these old ones one day Soon. For now, that corner is cluttered which bothers.

Lol, it happens sometimes especially if I splurge impulsively and then realise it was just a momentary thing.

@CookieCrumbs It could be a conditioning that seems to build in us as we observe the way the commercial world operates, of sublime advertising, of the packaging and what the product promises to deliver - and in that moment thinking that might help fill something in us.
@SW-User
We let ourselves be ‘seduced’ by the advertising or how it is promoted.
SW-User
@CookieCrumbs It's an unconscious way of being, but yeah.
FrozenWasteland · 61-69, M
Only once in a significant way. I bought a bunch of stuff for a BIG project that I'd always wanted to do. The timing seemed good as I didn't have a lot going on at the time.

Then life got busy.
@FrozenWasteland
But don’t you wonder…. If that BIG project was really that important to you, wouldn’t you have made time to complete it?
FrozenWasteland · 61-69, M
@CookieCrumbs I don't wonder about that at all. I know it wasn't as important as I had imagined. Hence the remorse. And that mammoth pile of stuff in my garage, yard, shed and basement.

Not often , but recently yeah. I never imagined getting yanked out of my comfort zone and feeling completely inadequate because of something we bought . But I’m dealing with it .
@TexChik
We sometimes allow ourselves that vulnerable moment to step out of our comfort zone. It can both be a feeling of relief or a feeling of unease.

I’m sure you’ll handle your situation well.

I buy very frugally would really have too need stuff to buy guess comes from childhood when materialist world was less prevalent than today's amazon lives
Generally don't buy impulsively or much beyond my "needs" .. but it happens sometimes
@Stillwaiting
Does the buyer’s remorse happen because you were disappointed with the performance/quality of what you bought?

Or you were disappointed that you spent money on something you don’t need that much?
@CookieCrumbs Can be either .. thankfully only an occasional thing
SW-User
Usually when I make a big purchase I feel it
@SW-User
Do you also feel this even if you’ve done careful planning of whether to buy or not?
SW-User
@CookieCrumbs yes I just feel bad spending any money normally. I always feel maybe I made a mistake
@SW-User
Believe me, that’s a feeling I’m familiar with.
LunarOrbit · 56-60, M
Only when I buy XXXL condoms.

Bulk pack from Costco.

🤦🏻‍♂️
@LunarOrbit
But what if you’ll need that size? Better be ready than sorry. 😂
LunarOrbit · 56-60, M

Every time I buy junk food
@Teggy
I know that feeling, believe me! 😂
JoyfulSilence · 46-50, M
