I Took A Random Selfie

I woke up like this...
ok ok I washed my face & teeth but that’s it.
To tame the big hair or not to...
that is the question...
Clearly it’s humid outside lol 😂

Man, you guys don't have any snow! Take a day off with the hair.

@hlpflwthat we have like 5% of what we did this weekend
It’s been warm and it melted

We were 40s last week, but didn't take it all. We have a quarter inch of ice coating our world this morning. We need sunshine bad - dangerous out there!
KaysHealingPath · 36-40, F
@hlpflwthat we haven’t had sunshine
It’s deeply and disturbingly gray...

I'll be in PV on the 10th for a week. That'll perk me up 😎

@hlpflwthat 😍😍😍😍
Omg I loved it so much!
Go to Mama Sirena (restaurant) and order the shrimp empanadas
They were seriously the best ones I’ve had my entire life!
hlpflwthat · M
Lol - my daughters had their very first tequila popper at Mama's about 5 years ago I spose it was. We usually get the Empinada appetizers at Mama's. There are so many good joints to eat along El Malecon - though we hang more at the south end/Old PV because we usually stay in Conchas Chinas.

@hlpflwthat I’ve never stayed there since we were just passing through we stayed at city express
hlpflwthat · M
Is that the new place main drag across from the marina?
KaysHealingPath · 36-40, F
@hlpflwthat yep that’s it.
It was cheap and under 5 years construction.

They offered transportation to the malecón
We took an Uber back
This was the view from our room.
Ha we walked to Walmart to pick up snacks and the mall was right next to the Walmart too

Lol I was gonna say 'new' - I think they been building it last 3x I was down there - not far from the airport. Wasn't open last March yet.

I just saw the prices on TA. Holy crap - $60/night? Are there really that many planes in & out during course of a day that the airport is a problem? Seems kinda quiet - till you use the airport. There are always plenty of people there. Real nice airport.
KaysHealingPath · 36-40, F
@hlpflwthat there are tons of people there and it is considered high traffic but it is small compared to the airport in Guadalajara or Cancun for that matter.

It was the first time I’ve ever boarded a plane from the tarmac! 😃

I love getting off the plane out there - the smell of growth & life just smacks you in the face as you come off the plane from that recycled pumped-in air.

It looks like Marina Vallarta will finally get going - tho nothing ever needs to happen fast down there. SAM'S & WalMart got the road improved thru there, and there is still a beautiful bay in front of it all. And that cruise ship area is 'pristine' compared to many others.

Glad you brought up the City Express. Our place rents Sat thru Sat and that doesn't always make the most sense air-wise. So an affordable night or two somewhere else is a good option to know. And a shuttle to the airport is decent - not common down there. I'm kinda surprised to hear it's allowed! They're pretty rigid with the drivers' unions in the tourist towns.
KaysHealingPath · 36-40, F
@hlpflwthat yeah definitely worth booking an extra night or two.
I booked mine though orbitz
Our flights from Guadalajara to a Chicago were about 838 pp but out of PV they were 280 (both one way itineraries)
So with what we saved in air fare we got to see PV for 2 days.
We’re looking forward to going back

I’m looking into booking a cruise that departs LA and has Los Cabo’s, Mazatlan and PV on the itinerary...
this year we’re going back to tres Rios in Cancun in December but next year we’re going to book a week in summer in PV
hlpflwthat · M
We started doing PV instead of Acapulco because of the stiff airfare. Sometimes it even makes sense for us to use O'Hare instead of Mpls - we save so much per ticket. Do you have someone you know in Guada that you don't spend all the time at the ocean?

If you're enjoying Cancun and you have to house and feed 3 boys, have you been out to Isla Mujeres yet?
KaysHealingPath · 36-40, F
@hlpflwthat yes my husbands favorite aunt is in GDLJ we also took the time to drive up to Zacatecas to visit my dads grave it was about a 3 hr drive

When we went recently we didn’t get go to to isla mujeres we spend 5 nights there and our days were booked lol
We signed up for a time share at Hacienda Tres Rios (all inclusive residence club) , and last time we stayed at Sunset Marina (all inclusive resort)

We didn’t sign up for the legacy plan because it was too pricey but we signed up for a shorter 10yr plan - it’ll be paid off in 1 yr all I have to pay when we go is our all inclusive fee (covers food and drink and all the activities st tresrios)
hlpflwthat · M
I see. Well then I wouldn't worry bout Isla Mujeres too much. It's kinda older and kitschy ... cheap rooms and gorgeous beach, reasonable food, not-so-American Cancun. And it's fun for kids to get to know some locals if they come back to a place. But sounds like you got a gig for some years to come. 😎
KaysHealingPath · 36-40, F
@hlpflwthat yeah were set.
You should check out the tresrios resort website I fell in love. Lol it’s like 10 minuets from xcaret!
hlpflwthat · M
I'll have a look!
