Wow! Blocked for Explaining Human Behavior

I think this is the first time in my 6-years on SW that I’m actually shocked that I was blocked. I wasn’t offensive. I just said that if you are going to post a selfie that some people may comment negatively, and if that will hurt you then perhaps you should reconsider posting because there will always be judgmental people. I also said it was unkind to downvote a selfie, and if you didn’t like someone’s selfie, it was kinder to say nothing.

Some people are extremely touchy, it seems. 😳 There are too many sensitive Woke souls on this site.

That would be surprising for me too. You were only pointing out what they should be aware of. Maybe they took your “tone” the negative way.

They can’t always please everybody or expect a compliment each time. People should just ignore when they don’t have anything nice to say. But they don’t do that. They’d rather be mean. And people get hurt. Sigh.

I agree. It would be a perfect world if everyone was kind to each other, but that’s not reality, whether we like it or not. In the real world, if you are going to put yourself out there, most people will receive mixed reviews unless you are so good looking, they are all positive, or you get lucky and only have kind people respond. If you are a sensitive soul that can’t take negative comments without being deeply hurt, then maybe the best thing is not to post. The choice is up to the poster. @CookieCrumbs

It’s today’s culture. I’m a highly sensitive person myself, but I accept not everyone will like me, and criticism goes with being part of the human race. It’s not nice to be receiving it, but it is reality. @BizSuitStacy

It is not just the 'woke' and not just this site. Too many people feel entitled to praise and adulation. And heavens forbid any comment is made that can be even remotely inferred as negative. I made a comment elsewhere that the background was distracting and got skewered for being elitist because some people are not able to organize and clean. Damn bunch of babies.

I really believe all this sense of entitlement started with participation trophies. No one could lose, and all were winners. It got worse over the years with social media “likes,” and the education system indoctrinating kids to be offended. Now those kids are grown, and they have no sense of the real world or reality. @jim44444

I'm not surprised tbh. It comes with the territory. Some people can't handle criticism of any kind. It's a little ridiculous.

What does surprise me is being blocked by someone you've never even communicated with. 🤦‍♀️

Buddhist wisdom. You are correct, but as we know, one can not successfully navigate society without some expectations. When I order a meal in a restaurant, I don’t expect them to bring me a pair of shoes. Without some basic expectations chaos ensues. @luv2fly352

Yeah... some people take even the suggestion of advice or an opinion as an affront to their ego. It is a bit strange that they post in ways that seem to invite the responses they get -- but there have always been a few types, anywhere, who are like walking minefields.

Human behavior can be ridiculous on this site. Ive never seen such desperation out of some of these people. They cant and wont take constructive criticism claiming that someone is jealous or just being mean.
