I Keep A Lot Of Things To Myself

Update: I have to wait for a cancer screening bc I’m not “sick”, and I have no lumps or bumps...
I do keep a lot of stuff to myself. A friend of mine told me a few months ago that she knew about my diagnosis from another friend but didn’t say anything to me...because she knew I am a very private person. That started a bit of something with the other “friend”...I gave her sh** and told her that I specifically asked her to keep it to herself. She did apologize but it took something away from my friendship with her. I can’t trust someone that breaks that bond with me. If you tell me to keep something to myself, it’s locked down. If anyone asks I just refer them back to the source, with a disclaimer - because we’re work friends, an employee can run the risk of being subject to a possible harassment complaint. Health information is the most sacred information! Protect yours. No one needs to know, outside of your close family and friends, what your health status is. I had to reveal mine to certain people at work bc my duties needed to change. There’s no way I could assist in evicting a 250 lb intoxicated angry male without risking damage to my affected side, I needed time to heal. But there were other things I could do so....but it was on a NEED TO KNOW basis, and not to be shared.

My post for today. 😊
