Depends on if that attraction is coming from pictures or from words and posts. The internet removes a certain shyness barrier that allows people to be more open, but it also allows them to curate and think about what goes out so that the things they are more open about as well as their image are painted in the best light.
People who are attracted more to personality and thought tend to get those feelings more online because the interactions focus more on conversation than physical presence.
But the physical aspect can be better controlled with proper photo postings as well
