I Am Me

A lot of people on this site...or any other for that matter, seem to have a problem when I talk about my heavenly father and my savior Jesus Christ. When I say I love him, when I say only he is perfect, when I say my truth. I have a right just like everyone else to my own opinions and feelings and to express them on my personal experiences, stories and posts. People will try to debate with me or disrespect God or disrespect me for my beliefs and I want all those people to know that I am not going to shut up so get used to it. This is who I am. I am God’s child first and I am devoted to him. I please him before I will please any human being or wven myself. I understand everyone having their own opinions so I don’t need people replying saying that if I’m entitled to my opinions so are they. You can have your own opinions. You can ask questions about my beliefs, you can even express how you don’t believe in God and why, but I will not tolerate disrespect toward my God by you telling me he is imaginary or he is an evil selfish God. I will not engage with you when all you’re looking for is a fight. If I write an experience on a story called “I believe in God” I’m writing there because I found a place where I can express my love and beliefs. A place where others also share my beliefs. I don’t understand when non believers come onto a post about believing in God and start disrespecting him and believers, saying we’re rubbing it in their face. Some nonbelievers have been respectful, but to the one’s who haven’t been... get over yourselves.

You do have a right to your opinions, but you don't have a right to promote those opinions as fact and push them onto others through legislation and I absolutely will speak my thoughts when doing so. I'm talking about religion in general and not you personally, of course. To tell others to never challenge your beliefs is a bit arrogant and intellectually dishonest in my opinion, especially when you post them in a public forum. Do you care if what you believe in is true? If you know it to be true, then you should have all of the answers to your Religion's criticisms.

When you live in a society in which you have to share space with others, the best and most responsible thing you can do in terms of sharing beliefs for yourself and others is to not make claims that cannot be verified. Belief leads to action and if those actions negatively affect other people's well being, you had better damn well be able to prove those beliefs to be true.

There is a big difference between knowing that something is true and just asserting that something is true. A popular rebuttal to religious criticisms I see a lot is "Stop telling people what to think!" Demonstrating that you have no evidence for your claims is not the same as telling people what to think. Telling people what to think is Religion's job.

I’m not a believer but I’d never attack your beliefs.

I admire anyone that lives their lives in accordance with God's standards instead of society's. It's admirable that you stand firm in your faith regardless of the disrespect and hatred you may face for believing. That shows the strength of your love and loyalty to God. God bless you 🌹
