I Miss My Childhood

Grandma Elsie gave us socks every Christmas. I was always one who appreciated gifts, but as a child, I thought socks were a pretty boring gift. 😂 One year my mother commented about how Grandma had lived through the Great Depression and still thought socks were a precious gift to give. From that time on, they became precious to me as well. It also taught me to look for what is behind what you see. ❤️

The generation of our parents lived in difficult times. They had to be practical and struggle for a living. That's the reason why they may be scarce at encourage loving words sometimes, but instead they show affection through other ways, like food.
