@OlderSometimesWiser Absolutely and I hate when a person that never walked your path tells you how to get through it.
@WillaKissing I don’t even mind (respectful) opinions being offered, it’s just incredibly annoying when someone is so convinced that they’re right and their way is the only way. Especially when they haven’t been in your shoes!

@OlderSometimesWiser Yes, exactly.

I hate “at the end of the day”
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@SophSmiles That's the one that gets me, too.
NerdyPotato · M
@SophSmiles omg, yes! Usually it's at the end of a discussion or a process, not the day. Just say what you mean! 😤
@SophSmiles The day never ends. And if it did, another would immediately begin.
NerdyPotato · M
Yes! Especially because 90% of the times someone says that I don't know.

Yes, that can be annoying, but.....it is what it is. 😏
@DrWatson eh ...that doesn't annoy me quite as much

Her reply and mine coupled with "Time will tell", what the heck I may not live long enough for time to tell me anything!

@OlderSometimesWiser There you go, that is mine as well. Because I have yet to see love to conquer it all, or time to heal my wounds.

Yes! That is correct! That is the whole point of that saying (it is what it is).
That's what the 'saying' is suppose to say when it is spoken... that something contains nothing any more informative than the meaning we assign to it, but of itself just sitting there on a shelf, it provides no informative meaning at all UNTIL we assign a meaning to what we THINK that object or thing should mean to us or should mean to society.
That is why 'it is what it is'!
If it's meaning isn't obvious, which means it has no inherent meaning of itself, then all it is, is just a 'thing' ...and a 'thing' is what it is; a thing and nothing more!
I guess because it says nothing informative.

Bishop Butler added a further statement:
Everything is what it is and not another thing.
"Everything is what it is, and not another thing." - Fifteen Sermons, Preface § 39 "This remark has become a philosophical commonplace since Moore used it as the epigraph for his Principia Ethica. However, despite the vast number of authors who cite it, the source of the remark in Butler is seldom given.

"Everything happens for a reason".
Most things have causes, direct or indirect, but
otherwise life is pretty random.
