I Am Glad People Can't Read My Thoughts

Burden

A heavy burden are these delicate matters,
In a world left blind and in tatters,
A figment of fictitious gods and their chatters.

There's a pollution of empty thoughts scrawled on a wall,
And no one seems to get it at all,
The restless brain, the unimpressive call.

Crying foul when the world is a senseless place,
Where the roots of evil set the pace,
It's all in vain, and truth doesn't have a face.

You cling to the wisdom of the miracle man,
Leaving everything in the fate of dogma's hands,
Trying to keep it all controlled, and in command.

You're better off to ignore the deeper thought,
To let go of the reason that you were taught;
It's never served us well to stew and rot.

I envy the dogmatic; their lives on auto-pilot, their confidence soothed by their imaginary sky friend.
@SnailTeeth All idealogues have a religion.

@TheFlippantSide What about atheistic scientists?
@SnailTeeth It depends on whether they're presenting ideologies, or facts. When research is tainted, it's just downright offensive.
