Tell me a memory...

That never fails to put a smile on your face when you remember it.

While driving with a very snooty Japanese chap that I had to work with, he referred to me as English. When I corrected him that I am Scottish, he shrugged and said "same thing." A little later I maneuvered the talk to a point where I could say "But you Chinese all look the same to me." His loud outrage was delicious to see - "I'm NOT Chinese, I'm Japanese!" "Yes," I said "But I knew that"

1985, mom took me to my first concert. Weird Al. Mom wasn't the biggest Weird Al fan, but went along because she knew I loved him. She was having an okay time, but I could tell she wasn't really into it. Then the encore came along and we were both singing along to Yoda, and suddenly, she was having a blast
One time, I was singing Yellow by Coldplay. At the part “I came along, I wrote a song for you,” I’d turned to my 3-year-old nephew to buckle him in his car seat.
He said, Oh! Nank you!”

He really thought I wrote him the song. 🥺😂

I have so many happy memories, but not one can match our wedding night when Lynn was finally mine after nearly eight years of dating. I think I smiled for a month.
I was visiting my friends, and sitting with Rio and the kids, watching tv. There was an old show about River Phoenix, and the youngest child (about 6) remarked, "Who would name their kid 'River' ?" My godson, who was about 12, replied, "Our grandmother ?"
Rio laughed.

It's a sad smile, but a good memory when our song comes on it makes me tingle and I look up to heaven and tell her I love her.
December 24, 1980, my Dad showed up at our apartment after not seeing him for five months, our mother took my older two brothers and me feom Oregon to iowa, her leaving him, it was the best xmas present ever, I was ten. Sadly my mother's lies cost him his life two months later, her older brother murdered him and got the small iowa county sheriff to help cover it up, making it look like he took his own life. An Oregon retired sheriff was hired by my Grandfather and my Dad's three younger brother to investigate was happened, the iowa sheriff told the retired sheriff to split or he would be next, crooked middle of nowhere rural sheriffs do what they say, and he knew it, so he split back to Oregon, the iowa state police wouldn't even listen to him, they ignored it.
