i don’t want to take my meds anymore.

my psychiatrist dipped his practice, i haven’t had a new one assigned to me yet. so i can get the right dose to cut it back. i have been wanting to get off these meds for a while but he wouldn’t let me. so now i can do it myself, but i become so uselessly dysfunctional and brain dead when i don’t take them.

Be careful if your coming off them on your own . I don't know what meds your on but when going off them at the start , the numbness in the mind will be still there and after a few weeks going off them when the numbness starts leaving you will get very tired and the mind will start racing a bit more than usual .
If that happens with you , see whats going on in your mind why your on the meds in the 1st place cause that will what happen and then what happens when the mind is like that all of the fear and dread will come back into your life and the mind will then start to panic , do deep breathing in between and sit with the emotions .
It' can be done .
My advive if your going off them , do a 12 step program cause coming off meds the mind goes into over load with thoughts .
I put you onto another great fella he saved my life "Fr . Anthony De Mello"
He's simple to listen too .
AND BY THE WAY IM NOT ADVISING YOU GO OFF MEDS cause saying that to a person is dangerous cause they could end up in a river if someone advised to go off them .
VERY DANGEROUS ADVICE TO TELL SOMEONE

Just know that you cant just stop taking them, you have to replace them with a healthy coping mechanism.

I haven't taken my meds in like 4 or 5 years. Shortly after stopping them I started lifting weights religiously.

Now going to the gym centers me like my meds use to but without the fucked up side effects of the drugs and with all the perks of physical training.

Doesn't have to be working out but you do need some kind of structured and disciplined regimen to do what your meds were supposed to.

Please continue to take them I’m on meds too …but my alternative isn’t good without them…

I think if you know you're better on them, you should maintain their use. No reason not to.

If you feel you need to go off please talk to a doctor and wean off of them. Be safe about it.
