Are you one of those weird people that think..

all water tastes the same? Like tap water tasting the same as bottled water and such
I can taste and smell the difference in many things. Low quality milk is one of the worst! It smells like pus because it comes from cows that are not well cared for, but I seem to be the only one that notices. Eggs are another thing that taste and smell better if the chickens are well cared for.

Having tasted water straight from a spring in the mountains at around 10,000 feet, I can attest to the fact that not all water is equal.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@UnderLockDown water is certainly not all equal
4meAndyou · F
Nope. I like a slightly metallic taste to my water. Most distilled water and heavily filtered water does taste the same.

Here, where I live, the water is so heavily chlorinated, (borderline unsafe), you can't drink it comfortably without filtration.

I remember the alkaline taste of the water on my grandfather's farm.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@4meAndyou wait you actually like metallic tasting water?
4meAndyou · F
@Torsten A tiny bit of iron taste.

Not at all. The tap water where I'm from is far superior to most other tap water I've had. The tap water up in the mountains is also good, but very different. And if bottled water has minerals in it, it will be noticeable too. The difference is I actually like water, whereas many people couldn't care less.
No. The only time all water tasted the same was when I had covid. It all tasted awful. I couldn't drink it, it was so bad.
Not at all! I’m quit picky about water.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@nonsensiclesnail can always trust someone who has high standards for the water they drink haha
@Torsten most days I drink only water. I find o drink a lot of bottled water when I travel because everyone’s water is so different, and often, terrible. Where I live now it’s horrible! Maybe it’s that I’m spoiled. Maybe it’s that the water here has changed over the years. It may be me. I don’t really know.
xSharp · 31-35, M
Nope, tap water tastes like chems and metal
eyeno · M
Though there are subtle diffrences, I've stopped reading labels and pick the cheapest.

My tap water is high in mineral content and dont drink it on a regular basis.

Kona Deep has a subtle taste of salt and does. Like it for its taste and to keep hydrated, though it costs a little more.

Nah. Plastic makes water taste funny.
Bri89 · 31-35, M
I know for a fact that all bottled water does not taste the same. I have tried many different bottled waters, and they all have a different taste to them. So far I like Evian water the best, but it is by far the most expensive.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Bri89 I thought Voss was the most expensive.
WhateverWorks · 36-40
I don’t know if I’d say I’m super picky about water, but I can definitely taste the difference. I remember back when I lived in Vegas the tap water tasted so awful we joked that you had to chase the water with tequila.
hyg346 · 41-45, M
Considering pure water has no taste, I'd hope it all tastes the same. Anything you're tasting is crap that shouldn't be in it
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@hyg346 Distilled water is not healthy to drink. Natural water contains important minerals we need.
Elessar · 26-30, M
Absolutely not, I can often notice the difference between different brands of bottled one, let alone bottled vs tap water
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
NYC has the best Pizza in the world Bc of the parts per million of minerals in the tap water .
And Evian tastes like milk . Yuck
MrAboo · 36-40, M
No water has different tastes. The tap water I drink is very different from bottled water.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
No. And remember when camping, never take water downstream from the latrines.
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
Really there is a difference
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Eww... there's people like that!?
Candy153 · 41-45, F
Coralmist · 41-45, F
When I drink my tap water, it definitely tastes a bit different than bottled spring water.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Coralmist do you prefer tap water?
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@Torsten Not really, but I drink it often because Im not a fan of spending more money on spring water. But I will buy a gallon of spring occasionally..hbu?
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Coralmist thats fair. I only drink bottled water. The tap water where I live can tend to get that brown rust stuff in it. I only give bottled water to my dog also. The tap water here is basically undrinkable and overall I prefer the taste of bottled water.
I recycle bottles every few months and get money back for it and that buys more water, so its kind of free to a extent lol
Jeffrey53 · 51-55, M
I’m the one. It’s just in Your mind. All bottled water taste the same.
Jeffrey53 · 51-55, M
@Torsten water is water
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Jeffrey53 nah not even close
Jeffrey53 · 51-55, M
Some bottled water is just really tap water anyway so they aren't exactly wrong
Torsten · 36-40, M
@SStarfish dont know how anyone can be fooled by that though
Majorsite · 61-69, M
No, My Dad worked for the water department, Water should have no taste !
Lilymoon · F
No but I'm not a bottled water snob either
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Lilymoon whats a bottled water snob?
yes it all tastes shite

By and large, bottled water is just filtered tap water. All water tastes the same, but the minerals and other impurities in the water change the taste. Different locations will have different impurities and thus different tastes. Not mention, water seems to leech flavors from plastic as well. Which is part of what makes bottled water taste off. And why some people will specifically use a glass pitcher for putting water in the fridge

So, what is the diff in taste from RO ( reverse osmosis ), Desalination or Deionized water !
