Well you told her the truth. You did the right thing. Your scores are not good enough for Hartford and she shouldn’t waste her time going and spending her money in that. You’re right it’s not her fault that she has an unplanned life and you have every right to speak the truth. Don’t apologize for telling the truth. You’re not responsible for her feeling so she’s gonna have to deal with it. You’re a good friend.

Shes in luck, higher rated colleges are for dummies these days
ElizabethBabe1994 · 26-30, F
@xSharp She isnt a dummy. Her score isn’t good enough for Harvard.

@ElizabethBabe1994 they have other criteria, a quota even, just find the box you can get away with checking off.

Well maybe laughing was not the nicest thing to do, possibly a bit more sympathy. But yes, if her scores are low she probably is not getting in, so it is also good to be honest and not lead her on.
ElizabethBabe1994 · 26-30, F
@Lackwittyname OK maybe I shouldn’t of laughed at her and she does have the right to be mad at that, I never said she was too dumb to go to college I just said that with her scores there’s no way that Harvard going to except her. I mean what am I supposed to do lie to her? Im her best friend I got to tell her the truth. Besides, I’m not the one with the unprepared life plans. She had that shocked look at her face and stormed off. Whatever. I will not have her disrespect me
Lackwittyname · 51-55, M
@ElizabethBabe1994 Right, not saying you should lie to her, and she can definitely still go to college, just not an Ivy league school, but there are plenty of good schools out there.

I would not focus on her disrespecting you just because she stormed out. Look at it from her point of view, she has horrible scores, is laughed at and probably felt humiliated. If she is your best friend just let her know you are there to help her, but also not going to lie about what he chances are.

Oh and it would be Harvard going to ACCEPT her, not except her.
ElizabethBabe1994 · 26-30, F
@Lackwittyname Yeah I guess I went a bit too far about laughing at her in whatever but I never said she couldn’t go to college. I said that colleges is not for everyone. I was just trying to help her and save her tuition so she doesn’t have to waste money on a school is not going to except her scores. That’s all I was trying to do.
