Are boys unconsciously conditioned to be sexist..?

This isn't my story, but it makes you think...

I truly feel for dudes.

I promise though that I won鈥檛 do this to my son 馃枻

@RebelFox That's the best we can hope for :)
As far as we've come, there's still a very real and pernicious societal view that men are of a higher social status than women. This is why it's not a big deal if a woman acts a little boyish or likes things boys like. That makes her cool/unique/wife material. But if a man acts girly then he's a sissy or a fag.

Matilda is badass! Any kid male or female makes a good choice by admiring her.

I loved the comics and you're absolutely right. I have been trying to change it as I help raise my baby brother too.

Very nice!

Indeed...lot of it is conscious! There is a lot of misogyny out there..it鈥檚 shocking how many men don鈥檛 respect or like women.

We are all subconsciously conditioned to be many things.

Everyone is conditioned in many ways.
@Entwistle

Well sure. But yes, boys are conditioned to be sexist in both overt and subtle ways.
Those are excellent points, and they illustrate how girls and women are still devalued even in the West, where people like to think "everything is equal now".
