@Roundandroundwego I of course accept what you have described as the reality of your experience and you wouldn’t be the only one to have endured such treatment. What you have described is when the line between fair and reasonable discipline/punishment and abuse is well and truly crossed. You can spend a lifetime trying to understand why your father acted as he did. I’m sorry you and your brother had to endure that and hope you have both gone on to have a fulfilling life.

Women teachers were generally thought to be milder than the men. Once a weak teacher who never used the strap was goaded to lose her temper and went storming off to the staff room we thought to borrow a strap. But she returned with the sports master who did the job on her behalf. Not fun!

IME it was the other way around. Female teachers really gave it their all, possibly so as not to be thought of as weak.

In junior school they were not very frequent users of the tawse. It became very frequent in senior school especially from eleven to fourteen and nearly all the teachers were men. They carried their bit of leather either in the sleeve of the gown or over the shoulder. Ladies used their handbag but there were not many female teachers in senior school@Lynda70

Hard too.. you know 7th and 8th grade those hormones get to hopping and you Google it bust out passing when you are in deep shit uncontrollably. My old man went to the next PTA. @kentex35 growing up in the 60s yes, enemas several times a week. And I experienced it too, not fun at all. I agree the adults then had A young tight butt fetish I’m sure my mother enjoyed putting the nozzle up my ass. Likewise, school principals with that paddle, dominating tight young butt, and coaches were generally gay or at least very bisexual.

@BackyardShaman really. The 6th grade coach. Had a wife and kids but like his football team. He was a mailman. We had games on Saturday and Sunday he'd still have his key and finish mail after.

Atlantic cod squares one Friday salmon patties in between. No meat on Friday. But their macaroni was good. Good to a Catholic fish fry done Friday. Cheap and full of memories like roaches lol

@spjennifer Looking back, I don’t think many of the nuns in my school "liked" men in that way.

@bijouxbroussard there were rumors at Simon and Jude about Father Security his hot rod 63 comet and one of the nuns from the convent. I know it was not Sister Mary Joseph that old snaggletooth bat. We had Dominican order. Probably the easiest one to to get into, I don't know for sure kinda spooky ya know with that huge Rosary they were always counting beads on.. and that damn pointer. Oh well I lived.
