So, Texas is going to arm all of its teachers... and when that fails, what's next? Arm all the students too?

I remember after Columbine High Massacre, they said they would restructure every school in America, making them unbreachable by limiting access points,. They put a cop in every school and they made children bring clear book bags to school. That didn't work. Arming teachers won't work. That's actually a recipe for disaster.

Had the teacher not propped the back door open and the school's SRO actually been at the school, this never would have happened. But somehow, both things happened at the same time and then the local PD was content to sit outside and let babies be murdered.

The schools would be perfectly safe. But since we can not count on college graduates and trained officers to actually do their job, what do you suggest? A lib social worker? Wouldnt that be a riot?

Yes armed and trained teachers . Democrats love keeping our schools as soft targets because they want the gun issue and have no intention of actually doing anything to help children. They only pay it lip service.

@TexChik Right, The situation with the SRO should be investigated. Why isn't anyone being held accountable? The police department isn't being transparent and forthcoming. If they investigated the Uvalde shooting the way they did the Jan 6 riots, I'm sure they would find the answers. If police can't protect the children, maybe it's best to hire an outside security team.

@RocktheHouse Jan 6 was nothing... a few unarmed protestors; and as a result, they increase security, install more metal detectors, and put up barricades around the capital...

a school shooting happens, they do none of the above, and blame law abiding gun owners...

If schools had a similar level of armed protection as politicians, this would be a non-issue...

@RocktheHouse The FBI has shown up, and for the last 6 years are openly corrupt. The Governor and the head of the state police are furious. I am sure the Uvalde PD is keeping quiet in anticipation of much deserved lawsuits

@TexChik Now I learned why the FBI was there. The Uvalde pd trains twice a year with the FBI on active shooter scenarios. They had just completed training the week prior and the FBI said they did not follow their training. They are there to figure out why.

Maybe kids should be a tad bit nicer to their classmates or keep their mouths shut.
