I agree, but originally he knew his book would enrage muslims and that it wasn't gonna just blow over. It reminds me of the Charlie Hebdo issue ..I think he is still hated by certain Muslims

That aside, you're speculating that Rushdi meant to insult Muslims. I did not read the book, so can you be more specific on how his book insults Islam, given that he previously received at least one award from the Islamic Republic of Iran, for one of his previous books.

The scary part, is that it is state-sponsored, and as late as 2019, the Ayatollahs ruling Iran, affirmed that the death sentence, imposed on Rushdi by Khomeini, remains in effect and cannot be rescinded.
He is a marked man, for the rest of his life.
At one point, I thought moderates are certain to win in Iran, but Trump's canceling of our agreements with Iran, sent Iran in the opposite direction, with those who are capable of changing things, emigrating in massive numbers, leaving the Ayatollahs in charge, with very little chance of reversing course.
Ironically, Trump was driven by the US own "Christian" equivalent.

One may not convince a religious person not to be religious...but by civil, thoughtful and personal interaction one may convince a religious person that people who do not belong to that religion are not evil degenerates worthy of hate. Attacking and mocking can never achieve this. You call me a lib...i call you aggressive and naïve🤷♀️
Your mistake is in thinking that any given religious person should be treated in the same way as an extremist member of the religion. I see that you did not actually respond to the ideas i brought up to you but simply doubled down on your conviction that you are right to attack certain groups of people.

In my not so humble opinion, a number of your posts show that you understand this premise..........and I applaud you for it. Especially when directed at my fellow "Christians".
Being intolerant of the intolerant is not synonymous with attacking. And your argument that "hate leads to more hate" ignores the reality that hate exists and has always existed. Hate did not spontaneously generate in Hitlers Germany. It did not spontaneously generate in any number of Islamic countries. It did not spontaneously generate in America when trump started campaigning.
