Married to a bastard [I Unhappy Marriage]

Unfortunately... many grow up to emulate what they saw as children/teens and think that behavior is perfectly normal and fine. Others experience some kind of trauma as adults that trigger negative behavior. Generally speaking NEITHER were caused by the significant other.

It takes a strong will to break those habits, but it can be done if caught early enough in life. OTOH...once they have manifested themselves for a long period of time (evident in those over the age of 35-40), those habits are rarely broken.

The advice I most often give is a combination of what others here have said...
Try marriage counseling first and if he is unwilling to at least "listen" to your frustrations in a neutral environment ... then get a good lawyer and lay it all out on the table.

Many would say you have too much to lose financially...but let me ask you this: What value do you place on your happiness?

I am sorry to hear this, I gather that going to a marriage counsellor would be a waste of time. he does not deserve a lady like yourself
