Is covid definitely over, or are we pretending its over because it's went on too long & we're bored, or was it all made up to begin with?

Because I've woken up with such a cold... yes it's just a cold! ...but I'm out for brunch today with oldest friend in the world & i don't want people to be mean to me. 😭😥😢

Your runny nose & sneezing will take the place of ringing a handbell & shouting "unclean, unclean".
@ineedadrink it will though wont it 😅

It's still here. I'm just back from a superspreader event for work. Two of the Americans who had to test to go home tested positive.

@SevenTierCrazyCake I think they can go back on Sunday now, but they were a bit upset at first
@SW-User i'm sure!

I have a high temperature (but also feel cold), am nauseous, and have no appetite... I don't want to take a test because I don't want it to be Covid 😔
I am definitely guilty of acting like it's over.
helsbels · 31-35, F
@helsbels It turns out I DID have Covid! Luckily it wasn't too bad for too long
Scarfface · 46-50, M
It's been reported to be on the rise again in the UK. They say it's more infectious but not as bad as the past Omicron variant.
@Scarfface the irish sea help a little, not lots & lots but a little

Covid as a disease seems basically predictable now, but hospitals are getting overwhelmed, at least they are here is Australia. Realistically it means doctors and medical staff are going to go through a few months of hell, and anyone unfortunate enough to need emergency medical assistance during that time is basically going to have to fend for themselves the way humans have had to endure and die in all of history, then we come out the other side and all pretend it didn't happen, just like with the pandemics a hundred years ago

its a thing going around atm lol, i had it for about 2 days im still coughing up crap outa my lungs 10 days later
@TheCoolestCat i used my inhaler this morning, which i haven't used since i had pneumonia, so I'm a touch miffed.
Lonelyandyb · 36-40, M
It’s not over. It’s just milder atm
@Lonelyandyb so you think people will be mean? 😭
Lonelyandyb · 36-40, M
@SevenTierCrazyCake uh . Maybe
@Lonelyandyb damn it, I'm not in yhe mood to be rude to people. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do
Stay tuned for money….

Over? Not by a long shot. The virus, however seems to have evolved, like most viruses, to stop killing the host.

It’s still a serious thing though, so caution/vaccination/booster are a good idea.

Until there’s a cure, Covid is now part of the seasonal viruses on the “to worry about / vaccinate against” list.

The hysteria is mostly over but the virus itself still exists and it probably always will. It just seems like people have finally been allowed to live with it and most of us now know that it's not even that bad. I'm not vaccinated and I had covid back in April...was hardly ill at all.

While it varies by location, it is certainly still around. Guess you could wear a mask and simply tell people you have a cold. They shouldn’t be mean to you if they’re really your friends.
AntisocialTroll · 56-60, F
Take your inhaler with you and put it on the table, other people will be less likely to assume it's covid if they see you with an inhaler.

@AntisocialTroll Good idea...

Dying from covid is over. I think.
So it's like any flu now.
Captainjackass · 31-35, M
Meeh I’ve had a runny nose for days now and no ones said anything.
