How do you begin to forget someone who doesn't love you back?

It took acceptance.
- I had to accept he would never be who I wanted him to be
- I had to accept him for who he is.
Anger is not worth your time.

Long story short, you will get past this, and it may take awhile. The end of any relationship is a process. Don't worry, you won't be sad forever. I promise.

You aren't crying over a lady. You're crying from the loneliness and emptiness you feel. Being a double widower around your age, I understand.
At Holiday time, we talk about loving everybody and spreading good cheer. That kind of focus can change the feeling you have. When you give out love, you attract love back. What you want is the love, not the person.

I wish I knew. I am in a similar situation, and I tried breaking off contact for my own sanity. But he keeps contacting me... Which would be wonderful if he gave a damn, but horrible when I know he doesn't. I don't know that you can ever forget. I think it helps to find a new hobby, or make a new friend, or do something you have always wanted to do but never had the courage. Focus on loving yourself for a bit.

That requires you to change your thinking. You're in love with them and you're not willing to let them go. If you're not careful, you'll fall into the trap of making them responsible for not loving you back. If you love someone, you want them to be happy. How happy would you be, if someone you liked but didn't love, wouldn't respect your needs and wishes?

I need them out of my head though bc. I can't justify caring about someone who doesn't care for me. It's wasted energy.

Just because they don't love you back doesn't mean you have to stop loving them. We should love everyone, especially the unlovable, but loving someone doesn't always mean romantic love. If the person was worth loving in the first place, the only thing that needs to happen is changing your focus.

That's what I'm trying to prevent from acknowledging Infinite. I have this unsettling feeling that he'll always be there no matter what I do to cast him out. I'm just needing to get through the initial phase of caring about him as much as I do.

I'm not entirely sure I'll look back with fond memories though Lv. When there's been more heartache than joy you really don't want that person to be attached to you for life.

I have tried that and failed miserably. Tonight I am falling apart. Have to be up in 3 hrs and I am hiding in a bathroom crying. Crying over a lady at my age. Just plain stupid
