What's your opinion/definition on cheating?

Yes i do believe if someone hides the truth of flirting or sleeping with someone other than your partner is cheating. Even if they say 'oh we are just texting' the intent is still there... anyway i am against cheating...

I'm currently going through a divorce... my husband moved out 10 months ago & the marriage was already dead by then for a while... we are only in contact with regards to the divorce proceedings...

I'm ready to move on & I've recently started joined a dating site. Told a guy i am now currently single but my divorce isn't finalised & he berated me for cheating on my husband...

I am no longer with my ex husband... do u think I'm cheating...?!

Well, I have chatted with people who were "getting divorced", and turned out they were still "getting divorced" years later. That's probably why you got the reaction you got, especially if that person has had an experience like that. However, based on the situation you described, if you actually have an end date for divorce, I would not call that cheating.

@Bubbles yea i know what u mean, not sure if u know the stages of a divorce but the 1st stage has already been granted, i'm definitely getting divorced lol thanks tho :)

@BondGirl84 If you are not living together and the marriage is over I would say it's just a technicality

You cannot legally be “currently single” if your divorce is not yet finalised. Legally you are still married. However, it would seem that in your case this is just a technicality & any guy who has a problem with that clearly has issues - NEXT!

@BalmyNites oh yea i agree i am still legally married... i was honest with the guy but assured him i was no longer with my ex... meh... yea its that guy's issue... gud luck to him...

@BondGirl84 Likewise, you also have to put yourself in another’s shoes & ask yourself what it would look like to the other person. For example, if you were speaking to a guy on a date site & he told you he was married/not yet divorced - yet stated on profile he’s currently single 😊

I don't use the term *cheating*, because that word implies that love and marriage are just games. Adultery is when two people become involved in an actual physical relationship with someone other than their partner, although I would probably include sexting also under that definition.

Flirting or friendships with other people are not adultery, but you can't be too careful who you talk to or what you say...and one thing can lead to another.

In your case, I would say that your best option is to wait until the divorce is finalised, then there will be fewer misunderstandings/complications.
That's not cheating.

No. Your divorce is in process, and the a-hole from the dating site just waved a red flag in your face. Tell him to cuck off and die.

@BondGirl84 SO right!!! I was three days away from the finalization of my divorce when I met the 3rd ex. I WISH he had been an a-hole back then...so I could see his true colors.

I think since your relationship has ended, you are not cheating.

Situations are bound by their content. You've obviously moved on and the fish you've landed via a dating site needs a solid berating upside his judgmental head. Go on about your badass self and be free. ❤

Snuffy1957 · 61-69, M
No you are not cheating!
Justenjoyit · 56-60, M
Why do people call it cheating when it takes two to make it work, plus if you are not getting your needs met then look else where, Marriage is just a government institution so that the responsibility lies with someone else and not them.
BondGirl84 · 36-40, F
@Justenjoyit agree with that... hate the term 'the other woman' or 'other man' when the husband/wife is just as responsible...
Zonuss · 41-45, M
No. You're just doing what's right for you.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Your relationship is over. You aren’t living together and only have contact about the divorce. It’s not cheating.
