Do you think its possible to love or be in love with someone

That you havent ever meet IRL?
Maybe not even video or voice chatted with either?

Perhaps....maybe tho, it's more in love with the idea of someone as you don't really know them nor have spent any physical time with them
DDonde · 31-35, M
You could say you are but what would it mean? The less you know the more you are in love with an idea that you have yourself filled in with your own imagination.

I think you can like someone without meeting them in real life.I talked to someone through text messages for about a year plus then we decided to voice chat also many months..before moving to video chat.We are best friends for 6 years plus now.

About 10 years ago I thought I was in love with a man from the UK. He and I used to write to one another. He used to call me his "Goddess of Words". We wrote for a long time, and I admired him so much at first.

But, with the passage of time, he revealed that he thought Hitler was great, and he hated Jews, and he spent a great deal of time trying to prove that Jesus was not a Jew. I could never love or admire his fascism or his racism.

My experience taught me that unless you see and hear and get to know someone in person on a deep level, you can't possibly love them...because online, they are always hiding bits of themselves in order to appear more desirable.

You have the potential to be attached to something about them and maybe like that. But until you see a person's real behavior in general and how they really treat you I think it's more of an idea...

I guess?? When you have this really deep connection with someone.

In a way maybe, but it ain't based on reality, it's part infatuation, fantasy and the idealism of them. RL is a whole nother ball game where you see the bad habits and real behavior
SW-User
To a certain degree it's possible..I think anyway.

@Theandyb lol thanks? 😂
Yes. I do think it is possible to be in love with someone you have never met IRL.

No.
You’re. ‘in love’ with an idea not the reality.
illw84u · 36-40, F
100 % in my opinion tho

To a point.

I couldn't love someone I hadn't met. Some people do seem to fall in love online, and as someone else commented on here, it seems out of desparation.
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
That only happens out of desperation. If someone is single for a very long time and all this while they have been wanting someone badly and all of the sudden they get 'written words attention' they grab it and confuse the feeling with love. In my very strong opinion it's not love.
SW-User
No you're just infatuated or attracted to them but not in love.
Tres13 · 51-55, M
