About 10 years ago I thought I was in love with a man from the UK. He and I used to write to one another. He used to call me his "Goddess of Words". We wrote for a long time, and I admired him so much at first.
But, with the passage of time, he revealed that he thought Hitler was great, and he hated Jews, and he spent a great deal of time trying to prove that Jesus was not a Jew. I could never love or admire his fascism or his racism.
My experience taught me that unless you see and hear and get to know someone in person on a deep level, you can't possibly love them...because online, they are always hiding bits of themselves in order to appear more desirable.
