Yes most do. And the popular phrase "if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything" encourages falseness.

I'm not saying we should be rude or hurtful, but it encourages insincere flattery and compliments with no depth.

I only lie to people I love. They deserve to have their feelings spared.
