My Nook e-reader is broken

And nothing either I or Mr. Kat tried could bring it back to life. Damn! 😠

They stopped selling those in the UK years ago. Amazon now has a near monopoly here. My first Kindle lasted me about ten years and the hew one's wonderful too. Hope your next Nook serves you well too :)

@PhilDeep Can you read any kind of e-book on a Kindle? Or only stuff from Amazon?

I could read Amazon books from my Nook device, using the Android Kindle app.

@SmartKat It can read documents of many formats including pdfs but I don't think it can read the nook's ebook format.

@PhilDeep I have something like 700 ebooks that were made especially for the Nook.

Maybe I’ll get an iPad Mini and just use the Nook and Kindle apps. Proprietary formats can suck it!

You have my sympathy. I just ordered a new tablet. Mine no longer recognizes the sd card and it keeps changing the date to some past time.

Not looking forward to setting up new device.
Are e book readers any better than display we get on ipad?

@mysteryespresso I don’t know. I’ve never really read books on an iPad. I’ve read books on my phone, but I don’t really like that.
@SmartKat okay. When you look for a new ebook reader you may let me know which one is better. I'm really happy with phone and iPad display but I'd love to buy an ebook reader if it's an upgrade
