I have friends who are teachers. They have a thankless job, are blamed for everything, and aren't trusted to make any decisions about anything. They have no say in what books are in the school library, nor what books they use to teach from, nor do they have any real choices about how to keep order, or preserve safety. Give them back their paddles before we talk about arming them with guns. It's bad enough they have to sit through hours of 'sensitivity' training, without burdening them with firearms training, and another level of nightmarish legal responsibility.
