Bought me some bookcases

And after a couple of days of sorting things out (because there was a lot of chaos) and shelving some of my favourite books. This is the result, but I should have bought one extra bookcase for some of the hardcovers (mainly Marvel) that are still tucked away somewhere else. For those people that enjoy books, have fun with the pictures!

that looks really good. books are special things.

@SomeMichGuy in answer to your question...
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@TheSirfurryanimalWales Never heared of that one... but looks intresting. There are however too many good books, and even though I have a lot, my space is limited and I still need to read them. I'm already behind on my books, I'm pretty sure that I can read a year without buying annything and still not read all my unread collection at the end of it. I really need to slow down. But that Borges guy looks intresting, it's a bit more in my field of interest when I read fiction. That doesn't mean I don't read other stuff.
@Yulianna Thanks, but not important. Have a nice day.

Love it!!!! 💕💕💕

I so want a library in my future house someday. The only problem with this plan is that all the books I own are on Kindle!!
Yulianna · 22-25, F
@sarabee1995 🇺🇦❤🇺🇸 that won't take up so much space in the beach hut...
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@Yulianna Lol, no it won't. Perhaps the "library" will just be a hammock on a shady deck with a dedicated charging station for the Kindle?? 😉
Yulianna · 22-25, F
@sarabee1995 🇺🇦❤🇺🇸 you will have to read to me...

Kwek, this is like the nerd version of an Instagram beauty pic. Look how hot/smart I am.

Not to say this is unimpressive.
@Kwek00 I understand loving the touch, sight, smell of actual books...and also how the real books--by virtue of BEING real and having those sensory cues--actually help one who has perused them, consulted them, read them to better remember what was perused, consulted, read.

And showing off books is a wonderful thing. 😊
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@SomeMichGuy Well, showing off any collection is perceived by the collector as a wonderfull thing. It's part of the psyche I guess. Not a lot of people that collect keep it just for themselves. It's a weird human trait, that I'm susceptible too.
@Kwek00

You mean in general, the way people show off their kids or pets? Is it the broadcasting which they like?

I don't try to show my collections unless I think that the viewer would appreciate it...same with talking about my various pets. Knowing my own proclivities, I don't try to go on about such things, because I don't assume people want to have *me* spend *their* time on areas in which they may well have no interest.

If someone happens to ask, etc., I'll say a little.

For book people, part of it is how many Jeffersons one has.

Now this, this is porn! I love it!
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@SW-User Mine too honestly 🤗
Looks lovely! Do you have room for expansion? Or will you need to colonize the space above these shelves?
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@ElwoodBlues I can still put a couple of cases... but I don't have that much room. Some of these series aren't finished yet. I do think, it's time to stop buying literature and political works unless it's something I really want. But I do like to keep the comic collection up to date.

I got a couple of X-men omnibusses that I have no room for right now. Also the entire Thanos Saga is still in a closed off closet. I just didn't have the room, and I'm more of a "Batman" person annyway. The best things however, are on ground level. Like "The Sandman" ... because I rather don't want them to drop if one of the shelves decide that it's too heavy.
Great bookcases! Nice you had such a great stretch of wall.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@SomeMichGuy Well, I kept it open for a reason. I just needed to find the time and the money to set it all up. These books have been lieing around everywhere. My house looks a lot less chaotic for the moment. A LOT less.

My kindle looks just as spectacular.
That’s a lot of books.....😀
Soooo tidy 🥺
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@V00doo Lol

You should have seen it before this... these things were everywhere 😳
@Kwek00 Then the result is multiply pleasing; even better!
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Oh wow you have a lot of books. I just read them in my iPhone or iPad.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@iamonfire696 It's fairly organised... NOW. 😅 Because after years of procastination I finally bought bookshelves. Before that, the books were everywhere, I was so disgusted by it that I had to do something about it. It's also hard if you want to clean your appartment. So much dust piles up. I hope that I can try to keep that to a more minimum level now. Even bought a special swiffer stick that I can go over the books with. Now I just have to do it.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Kwek00 it looks great
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@iamonfire696 thx, I agree with that! Espescially the comics and the fantasy/Adventure/science fiction books, because those people put some time in making a spine. 😅
