Just about to read Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said, by Philip K. Dick, for rhe first time in about 50 years. Bought it as an ebook this morning for $1.99.

@hunkalove Just read a quick summary about this and it sounds great. Hope you enjoy the reread.

SW but plot so far isn't going anywhere. Also the characters development is like a bit of Terminator and Killer Clowns from Outer Space with a little Jerry Springer mixed in.

I pick books from a common bookshelf in our apartment house. Most of them are set in countries behind the iron curtain in 60s and 70s and talk about lives of young people mostly dealing with their emotional struggles. The first book was interesting but it ended without general conclusion (a girl whose father died learned that her mother about which she thought was dead in fact left her when she was little and should live somewhere far away in Russia), the second was weird and mostly boring (a girl working as an accountant in farmers' co-op meets some dude from a different social class and falls in love with him). Now I picked some by a Polish author about an investigation about a girl who attempted suicide but I haven't started it yet.

The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks.
Doppelganger by Naomi Klein.
And my local newspaper. It's a reassuringly mild read and has two cryptic crosswords.

Mostly just my two newspapers. Yes, real newspapers -- well, the closest you can get to real these days -- with ink on paper that you can have the tactile feel of as well. And if not too tired, a few pages of Sensing Injustice, Mike Tigar's memoir. Got involved with a couple of volunteer projects in addition to my Fantasy Baseball Commissioner duties. The activity and challenges feel good, but really exhausts my limited stamina these days.

One of many for me is Eugene Sue's The Mysteries of Paris.
SourceDecay · 41-45, M
@MrGumHead Wasn't familiar with this but just checked a quick summary. Pretty awesome that it's believed to be the inspiration for Les Mis.
MrGumHead · 46-50
@SourceDecay Yeah!! And it was super popular when it was released with each new installment, the talk of the town all over France!!

Today, MAVERICKS #1: FIVE AGAINST THE LAW, a reprint of a 1930s pulp magazine novel. Tomorrow, probably THE SPIDER #30: GREEN GLOBES OF DEATH, a reprint of a 1930's pulp novel, or maybe ACTION AND PASSION, a 1930s adventure novel by P. C. Wren, the author of BEAU GESTE.

Finishing up divine throne of primordial blood. After like a thousand chapters, it's time for our protagonist to lead a war against an entire other species. My third read and I still love it.

@ChipmunkErnie If you read or watched The Expanse series than thats probably it.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@WanderlustCat Ah, yes. I read the first three or four books in that series a decade or so ago. Pretty good. Haven't gotten into the TV series, though I might give it another try.
