What book is so boring or depressing, u had to quit reading it?

I couldn't get through chapter 1 of American Gods because it triggered what I can only describe as "a mild case of PTSD" from working in a prison. The system is beyond fucked up.

Ohhhh one I remember was a really long series of books "the mortal instruments" that I discovered from a fan club on EP. Oh my goodness I couldn't even get halfway through the first book, it was so poorly written that it made the entire plot seem extremely lame when it could have been something magical and legendary. I cringed at all the dialogues and wannabe-cool-misunderstood-teenager personality traits.

The Bible. Shadowfire tells me he has read it from cover to cover three times, and I do not understand how.

“Remains of the Day” made me want to taste a gun muzzle. Couldn’t finish it. The movie, a bit of which I caught on TV was apparently worse.

House of leaves. Wasn't boring. It was just extremely depressing.

its a book that was a realistic book of a real story of a town in our country that completely sucks.
its filled with trash people. and the book was soo boring! i had to read it for school but i just said no!

Crime and punishment was almost depressing enough to make me put it down. I got through it tho.

War and Peace was too much for me when I tried to read it but I was only 15. Maybe I could finish it now 😅
