These are actually active conversations in conservative and libertarian threads. Guys whining about how most of the girls on dating sites are liberal and won't date them, or if they start talking politics on a date, the girl loses interest in them. Then the whole forum starts circle jerking each other using misogyny and "logic" as lube

It's kinda funny for me since I'm not conservative or libertarian, but from their point of view, it's a big deal apparently.
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@Rutterman Online dating in general is rough for 80-90% of guys, so it does a number on their self-esteem. Dating advice threads are pretty rampant across the internet with people choosing to seek solutions among their peers. Similar threads pop up in forums for/about introverts, weight loss, personal finance, atheism, male pattern baldness, anti-feminism, etc.

Digging into political forums, this is something that usually comes up frequently. Most, if not all, of the guys end up blaming the woman for not agreeing with them. A few will even use the date as an opportunity to convert her. It's all pretty sad the deeper you go into it

@TinyViolins Loool, it's weird that conservative dudes are always saying that liberal girls are ugly, posting pictures of random women wearing alternative fashion, and then they're like "😡 these liberal women won't date me" when they see someone that they find attractive, lol. It's like...pick one, are we ugly or not? Damn
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@SW-User 😅 🤣
Miram · 31-35, F
This is true.

Some guy here blocks all men who disagree with him.

But didn't do so to me ,and keeps checking my profile.

Weird how guys think we would fall for it, we already saw how you treat your fellow men 🙄
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@Miram I'd be willing to bet he does that with other women too.
Miram · 31-35, F
@Rutterman yep, he does 😁 that is why I concluded it is due to my gender
Miram · 31-35, F
A note, she doesn't have to be pretty. Just the illusion of e-puss.
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@Miram Yes, that's true. He might not know what she really looks like. She might just have a pretty/sexy profile pic or he simply imagines that she's attractive.
I had always wondered if it worked the same way when the woman’s conservative. A fellow here, staunchly leftist, once made the comment that he’d “gladly do Ann Coulter if she’d just STFU”. 🙄
What a guy ! 🤦🏽‍♀️
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@bijouxbroussard Lol. Fair point. I'm sure there are other men (on the left) who are like this fellow you mentioned.
Niloo · 46-50, F
I think this is true for some men regardless. It's not just for politics.Have you ever wondered why most drug reps are pretty girls?
Specially now that the companies cant " bribe" Dr's?
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@Niloo I agree with you. This could be applied more broadly. I just happened to be thinking about it in a political context when I wrote my post. And I should add that it's almost certainly not limited to guys on the political right. Guys are guys regardless of where they fall on the ideological spectrum.

Women can be like that too... if a cute man says something we don't agree with, we will smile and not say anything.. it's the way of the world
Adaydreambeliever · 56-60, F
@Rutterman Yes but you may *only* notice those that disagree.. if they agreed, you probably would never know that they were keeping their disagreement to themselves cos they fancied you..

I think it's human nature.. but given that generally speaking women are the more peace-keeping, nurturing, wanting everyone to get along, then it would be generally more women who would agree just to keep the peace.. a
SmartKat · 56-60, F
@Adaydreambeliever I was that way when I was younger. Not anymore.
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@Adaydreambeliever I guess it depends on the context. When women discuss politics, they seem to be about as willing as men to say things that might be upsetting to others.
I hope she's smart cause she's cute 😍
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@BeefySenpie Hahaha! She's a beauty, isn't she?
Fungirlmmm · 51-55, F
Lmbo. While I'm not really a Bernie supporter I will agree that some of my guy friends say that repairman and other service persons are nicer to me because of my sweet personality and looks. Sometimes they give me extra things free or discounts even. I have always said it was because I try to be nice but they are convinced it is the look.
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@Fungirlmmm I have a feeling it's both. If you were rude to them, they probably wouldn't be quite as nice to you.
Fungirlmmm · 51-55, F
@Rutterman true.
HannahSky · F
And we wonder what really changes the world views.
DDonde · 31-35, M
Not even politics, you can expand this to anything they take seriously.
And women will do the same with men.

We make exceptions for those whom we're attracted to.
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@DDonde I agree that this can be applied more broadly, but I do think it's more true of men than it is of women. That's what I've observed anyway.
😂🤭 You mean good-looking women are successful because they win arguments easily.... sometimes by saying just a few words? 😈
@Rutterman 🤭 sooooo blah blah blah
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@Vivaci I don't know what you mean. 😅 🙃
@Rutterman 🥴

Often you find that they are 'White Knights' hoping to get laid
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@Quizzical Yes.
SmartKat · 56-60, F
💯 I know exactly what you mean.
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@SmartKat I have no doubt that you do.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
Few things piss me off more than when some knuckle dragger is spewing off some political absurdity and I attempt to engage him in serious conversation in order to correct his ignorance and then he tries to hit on me. Ugh 🤦🏻‍♀️
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@SmartKat I guess I'm still in that phase of life where I think they can be saved. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@sarabee1995 Knowing you as I do, I can just imagine how irritating this must be to you.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@Rutterman Yup. Brings out my bad side pretty quick. 🤷🏻‍♀️
daisymay · 51-55, T
It's almost like the overriding human directive to procreate makes them acutely aware that their "black and white, with us or against us, loyal subjects of deity or Satan-worshiping baby-eater" view of people isn't a successful strategy.

Obviously, this is a subconscious trait since we all know they couldn't articulate this thought process or accept it could exist at all.

Editor's note: if you read my comment and you're also a mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging, shit-eating conservative, I'm sorry if you're offended 🤷‍♀️ You can go pull on your bootstraps and STFU and DIAF. See? Now, that's an apology.
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@daisymay Interesting perspective. I think there's some merit in what you're saying.

Hypocrisy?!!! Surely not 😱
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@Harriet03 No, definitely not. 😄 🙃

How true! I see this all the time, obviously. Sometimes it depends on who the person is or what "social" standing they seem to have, and defo what interest they have in them. This can be applied to many areas. Biased and subjective me thinks.
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@Magenta I agree with you. It can indeed be applied to many areas.
Straylight · 31-35, F
This is 100% a thing!
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@Straylight Yes. You see this a lot.
Peaches · F
Crazy world we live in! 🤪
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@Peaches Lol. It sure is. 😅
