There were instances of bullying that I didn’t share with my mother, because A.I was embarrassed about it and
B. She was already putting out other fires with my siblings, etc., and I didn’t want to add to it.
I knew I could’ve told her, but somehow it was easier to tell my older cousin.

Thank you for your words. They really helped me to get over the fact that she did not talk to me about this.

It has made me rethink some of the things I say and do and how I will approach things going forward.

🥺🤗💙

@Vivaci Why did you delete your response? It was fine!
@JaggedLittlePill she probably was afraid that it might feel like she was dismissing how you were feeling about not being told. Of course, that’s not the case at all. But our Vivaci… is a sensitive, beautiful angel that always want to make us feel loved. She’s incredible.
My niece tells me all kinds of shit she doesn’t tell her Mum. It’s not that I’m better. She adores her Mum. It’s that I’m an adult that she respects that’s not gonna get involved or try to fix anything. I’m safer because she’s just venting. I’m kinda like her SW.

I never told the many cruel hateful things said to me as an adolescent.

Assure her of your love, acceptance, and she always has a safe place with you.
