@Sparklesatnite I’m seriously not trying to be funny or smarmy, but I really want to be more like you. 😊

Parenting.
I’m old school, and at my age I should have been done raising kids already.
Since I now have a stepchild to raise, I am considered very old fashioned in my parenting styles 😉

*and maybe I shouldn’t say ‘most’ people but definitely a LOT
scorpiolovedeep · 46-50, M
Now that is one thing people should not be judging you on .,,

Everyone has a different journey , childhood to adulthood to relationships and beyond.

Be yourself .. enjoy the journey.
I am old schooled myself

🤗🤗💐💐

View issues. I often seem to be on a different page.
Things others see as problems, i dont.
Things others think are irrelevent, i dont .
I often feel one degree left of centre in social contexts, not quite clicking with the standard .
@scorpiolovedeep i think few people are actually themselves.

We are programmed from day one, by social and/or religious standards and second hand damamge .

I mean, i spend most of my time NOT being myself, just so i dont have to deal with rutted thinking.

Ive learnt to just let others think the way they do in RL.
We may be entitled to be ourselves ...but are we conscious enough, and strong enough to be ourselves🤷‍♀️
scorpiolovedeep · 46-50, M
Agree that we are programmed by others and it is crucial that we listen to ourselves and be stronger.

@OogieBoogie
@scorpiolovedeep i think its a matter of compromise.

The hardest thing ive learnt is: Sometimes you gotta go along, to get along.
I mean, if you're surrounded by robots, ive found its better to act like one, than rock the boat and cause conflict .
Its easier for the perceptive to comply, than it is for the conditioned to step outside their comfort zone.

I try to limit 'being myself ' to when i have the freedom to be it, without upsetting others.
Im just tired of stupid conflict .

Not much. I just think I am a regular person. If I do something different it is probably because nobody else does something like I do where I live. Perhaps in another town or city or country there are people who do the exact same thing. For example, if I am the only artist who draws beautiful paintings where I live, there might just be someone else or other people who do the same somewhere else.
I like to follow a median approach in life. Not too high not too low just moderate .I think it is the toughest to achieve yet a good way to lead a better life.
Carissimi · 70-79, F
My thinking.
Carissimi · 70-79, F
I don’t know. It’s something I’ve noticed over my lifetime. The people I’ve known don’t seem to think like I do. It’s hard to give an example, but just ordinary things that others seem to enjoy. As a child, I found the circus and fairground boring and uninteresting, while my friends enjoyed it. Many people enjoy going out to listen to a band. I’d rather go bird watching. I know many women like to go out to a nice restaurant on a date, I’d rather go for a walk by the lake. (Not that I actually date, but if I did) I’m just different. I have a lot of integrity, but I don’t see much around me. I’m honest to the point of stupidity, but I’m working on that. I’m just different in many areas of life. I don’t fit in. @scorpiolovedeep
scorpiolovedeep · 46-50, M
Thanks for sharing ..

And trust me , you are not stupid.
It is ok to think / feel different to others.

I love walking by the lake too.
And observe nature / bird life.
🥰

It is okay to be different, but if you don’t fit in, then you end up alone. I’ve made my peace (sort of) with that. I can live better with my authentic self than try to be something I’m not, just to fit in. @scorpiolovedeep

@scorpiolovedeep my work is not shift work. I work with people, I sleep differently in the sense I'm just weird.
