Read the book "Stranger Beside Me" by Ann Rule. Give you chills.

@Foxes it’s an excellent read and Ann Rule had worked with him before he was a suspect…This book is the reason I started locking my house doors even in the daytime when I lived in a rural area in 1980

@cherokeepatti I'm definitely going to go out and buy that book now.

I used to walk past a coffee shop each morning on my way to work and would often see this pretty (and sexy) trans woman sitting by the window having a cup.
Then one day all the newspapers and websites had pictures of her with headlines telling of her murder.
That shook me up and still gives me the creeps when I think about it. Poor girl no doubt had a difficult life, as most trans people do, and then was just snuffed out.

well depending on if you live in a big city or somewhere small, if you live in a big city you could potentially pass by 1600 murders in your life time, if somewhere small then 16

I bet you will in your lifetime. Scary thought, but I believe it's true. Maybe not murder, but a crime of some sort.

Also, I'm extremely glad that you were passed up if such a situation had happened.
