Especially children who are traumatised during the day...

@elsa1025 Trauma can come from many places for a child. Abuse and inappropriate handling of a situation on the care giver's part, bullying in social settings and fear just to name a few.

Even an adult may lose control of their bladder if they are scared enough.

@elsa1025 Not in my family, it isn't... I still don't understand why an adult would expect a child to understand so much about sex to be able to explain what was happening to them at such a young age. I mean... sex education wouldn't have started for that girl for another three years and, even then, they didn't cover that in the curriculum... 🤷‍♀️

@elsa1025 I know that you don't... I just can't get through to my head why my mother felt that it was necessary to do what she did.

Even to this day, as an adult, I can't find a logical reason to justify what she did to me. Understanding is something that remains very important to me as a person.

Of course, I know enough to know that what she did then and what she does now is abuse - but I can't find any reasons for it.

@elsa1025 So did I.
@elsa1025 Only to use plastic sheeting to protect your mattress, or incontinence pants just in case. Lowering your worry about the problem may reduce the occurrence of the issue - and incontinence pants for adults are much easier to get these days than they used to be.

I'm at the point where I'm thinking of getting myself a supply in, too.
