You can’t force someone out of misery.

When you try to help someone by being supportive remember you can only try. It’s up to that person to accept or refuse help. Yeah I get depression affects everyone differently but you can at least make an effort to get out of your misery instead of constantly moaning about it.
But if someone decides to remain miserable that’s their choice.

@wilderflower I didn't really, until I had to cope with a terminal illness. Motivation, effort, will, etc are all a product of brain chemistry and I wholeheartedly believe that now. You can't yell at someone's brain for not producing the correct levels of dopamine and serotonin anymore than you can yell at a diabetic's pancreas for not producing the right level of insulin.
