They say to leave the past behind you so that you can move forward to better things in your life.

And they also say that all the little things along the way, are what make up who you are today.

There are so many philosophical contradictions, the more you pay attention to all those inspirational quotes of theirs.

“A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do. He may as well concern himself with his shadow on the wall. Speak what you think now in hard words, and to-morrow speak what to-morrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict every thing you said to-day. — 'Ah, so you shall be sure to be misunderstood.' — Is it so bad, then, to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood.” RW Emerson..just being helpful🤣
They are both true. Yes, you’re past has defined who you are in this moment, but you have the choice the stop dwelling on that past and choose how the events moving forward will change you and redirect your path.

You acknowledge your past (including yesterday) and let it go so you can move forward without its weight holding you down.

It's just too extreme to pretend to live only in the present and now. We are shaped by our experience, those affect the present as well. What's really negative is being completely stuck in the past as if life ended there...

Indeed, Contradictions and untruths. I feel this way about most cliché's and sayings that get tossed around like confetti.

@Magenta someone blocked me because I told them that and they were obsessed with that belief of the "empowering now" 😂

@SW-User Lol. Couldn't handle reality and would rather live in the fantasy of words?
SW-User
@Magenta looks like some people take those quotes too seriously 😂

Ha. True. Good point.

You don't take a quote on board simply because they are put forward as inspirational quotes..

You think about the quote for a while and then decide if it is true wisdom or just philosophical babel..

Humans are much more complex than inspirational quotes ..many are walking contradictions in many ways
Continuing moving ahead doing good to all on way, if possible.
