Valid question: Does an insecure person know he/she is insecure?

Or insecure people are completely oblivious to it ?

I genuinely have this question.

I am not hinting this at anyone.
For someone people insecurity comes with failure, anxiety, loneliness, rejection and other material factors. Some people know about it but are helpless in situations or don't know how to deal with it. However one can overcome it but it takes efforts like self improvement, change in habits.

I think by a certain age you know your abilities. But it is essential to know what you offer.
Unfortunately insecurities arise because there is a lack of acceptance of these things.
So yes most people are aware of their insecurities but it's a person that can admit it to themselves. That they are able to own and work them out.

I definitely know. But I didn't start working on it until after a few years of coping with it. It took me almost a decade just to even attempt to work on it. It can feel unchangeable therefore making it feel like it's futile to try and change.

They can be oblivious, if they hide away from knowing that part of themselves and instead seek, defense?

We all have coping mechanisms, ways of being, sometimes it is coming into yours and seeing your place in the world?

They may try to hide it but they definitely are aware of it.

@SW-User Because blaming others for our bad state is easier for some. Also after a certain age we tend to settle into ourselves even if it's bad.

Yeah, I think they do.

@SW-User You’d have to ask them. I wouldn’t know as I’m not an insecure person.

Most does, few doesn't.
No.

They are so used to their escape and compensatiin mechanisms they dont see it.

Jealously is turned to hate by reasoning .
Hate is executed as logical punishment and seen as 'deserved'.

They are set in their ways . Its a lifestyle amd a mentality .

They look outwards and never in.🤷‍♀️
They cant look within as its too painful and/or embarrassing .

Its a life of denial. Even if they subconsciously feel they are insecure.....they will NEVER admit it.

@SW-User i think youve hit on the key element here : jealousy.

Some never feel the need to feel it .
Some are driven by it.

I find it hard to understand myself .
I mean , the only thing we compete with , is our past selves. You know, trying to become better people .🤷‍♀️

I know I am insecure and that comes with my appearance.

It stems back to my childhood and sexual abuse and I am trying to work through it but when you get made fun of for what you look like it makes it so hard to get through those feelings.

@SW-User I am sorry you got picked on too. I hate that type of behaviour so much.

It all goes back to the man that abused me as a child and the things he said. Women are honestly the worst though when it comes to picking at other women.
