You ever allow those things you want and long for [I Am Grateful Today]

to distract your gratitude for what you already have?
Very philosophical question ... I am sure that I do ... the lure of a faster boat often eclipses the cool fast boat one has ...

But distraction prevents my awareness

@questionWeaver It's as tho' that thinker in our heads is always Pro Ego and wants us to need more an more to falsely " satisfy " .
@Trippy aspiration at it's finest ... is sexy and attractive
Trippy · F
@questionWeaver A sense of confidence perhaps that was sadly mistaken as such.
summersong · F
More often than I should but I’m working on that.
Trippy · F
@summersong Me and you both.

Happens all the time. But whenever I am reminded of what I have, I become thankful for that.

You is a superstar ⭐️ lol 😎🦋@SW-User

@SW-User Keeping our eyes pealed is certainly a positive. It's only when we self judge our worth based upon what we must have next...I think we get a bit lost.

@SW-User

@Trippy getting lost in inevitable at times. Temptations and environment play a huge role in it but then again, if something matters to you so much, you just gotta want it enough and get it.
SW-User
No. My gratitude for all I have is more predominant than what I want and long for.

@Bushmanoz I am blessed.❤️
Trippy · F
@SW-User As an observer it certainly shows consistently. Blessed Indeed.

@Trippy 🙏❤️

Sure I have day dreams ✨but I love and appreciate what I have too 😌♥️🥂
Trippy · F
@SW-User Me too... Maybe the best attitude we can have once we snap out of it 🙂
SW-User
Sometimes .. lol 😌🤭 @Trippy

more often than not
Trippy · F
@Pretzel I think it's learned behaviors... We are after all , human beings...not human achievings.
Pretzel · 61-69, M
@Trippy maybe - seems like selfishness is almost innate

you see kids take each other's toys - we have to be taught to share.
Trippy · F
@Pretzel I agree... We are groomed from day one to compare and compete.
Not intentionally, but I do sometimes
Trippy · F
@PrivateHell Yep... Seems a distraction that is easily attained.
Trippy · F
@DarkHeaven Try... An accomplishment by any means really ❤️

@Eyeamhere Zen status of the century you have achieved.

Well.....once at least. It was the western rifle and two shiny cap guns in holsters for my birthday that left me absolutely giddy and running for the door outside with my new arsenal that distracted me.

But that was so last year....😉
Trippy · F
@Freeranger ❤️

There is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way.
Trippy · F
@Reject Beautiful ❤️
@Reject @Trippy no destination to... as the journey is the reward.
Trippy · F
@DarkHeaven Amen ❤️

Yes, I’m trying to correct that
Trippy · F
@BackyardShaman Perhaps the foundation of all abundance lies in what we already have. 🤔
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
I think you’re onto something true!@Trippy

No I've learned the hard way not to
Anita21NYM · 22-25, F
@Anita21NYM It helps keep a smile on that pretty face of yours
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
Working on it. Periods of high stress at work tend to obscure what's important.
Bushmanoz · 56-60, M
Thats pretty much the human condition, always wanting more
Bushmanoz · 56-60, M
@Trippy does it tho? I dont think it does, not if you are comfortable in your own skin
Trippy · F
@Bushmanoz Perhaps in terms of what a person deems as comfortable. In the eyes of the ego, self-esteem and humility are contradictory. In truth maybe they are one and the same.
Bushmanoz · 56-60, M
@Trippy You may be right, I think yes, mostly, that would be the case, but there are genuine times when it isn't at all. But maybe it's becoming rarer
