Ever notice the high tech junk that the US defence industry cranks out?

Take the F 35. (please). It sounds so wonderful. Until you look under the hood and realise that it burns ultra premium fuel that requires a lot of refining. It has a very high maintenance schedule. One hour flying needs I have heard up to 100 hours maintenance. So when it is not in the hanger being recreated it is prone to fail in flight. The much bragged about helmet is glitchy and prone to fail which has resulted in several pilots given the plane back to the tax payers and taking the silk road to the ground. To top it all off its much boasted 'stealth' doesn't work! It can be seen on radar and shot down. All that for a fighter jet when in fact jets are being replaced by precision missiles and drones.
