Weak shipbuilding could be the US Navy's Achilles' heel in a war with China ... DISAGREE.

No, we will fight the war with the ships we have NOW.

A war with China will not be like the war with Japan, in which we won the naval war largely with ships that weren't yet in commission when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.

This is why we should extend the life of at least the first four Nimitz-class aricraft carriers and all remaining Ticonderoga-class cruisers.

Please don't exclude aircraft to land on those carriers. We unfortunately are going the route of automation, like AI run Aircraft.

Not a good thing to solely do. Japan and England jointly went on their own aircraft, because of the difference in technology.

Some AI is not a bad thing. Totally going AI is a bad thing.

@DeWayfarer AI can’t drive a car .. yet so flying a plane is out of the question but, the basics of AI can help automate certain tasks.

@justanothername USA refuse to make a next generation human piloted aircraft with anyone. The Japanese specific tried with the USA first. Then went to the UK. The two are designing one right now.

The USA still has no further plans for any next generation human piloted aircraft.

Found this out on NHK. It's reported on occasionally.

We are mostly working on drones currently. The next step is AI.

These things need to be done in stages. Drones is the next step.
