For years voter turnout has been around 30% in Canada. In the 90s there were no serious alternatives to Chretien so most people didn't care.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Well, I think most presidential elections were yawners between 1964 and 2000. You pretty much knew who would win as soon as the polls closed.

@trollslayer Yeah. Based on policy especially when neo liberalism became the norm it was usually Republican or diet Republican with less social conservatives.
