would a book like this not be published now

[c=BF6900]i have a copy of 'night school' by u.s horror fiction author bentley little, its a good book about a haunted university, first printed in 1994...in one chapter a black student is receiving abuse from a a couple of white students, they're picking on him....anyway it ends with the black student retaliating and giving abuse back...then the white students assault him and call him the N word.

and i thought in today's world and the way things are politically, would a horror novel like that not get published now?[/c]

It's still in print and still available for purchase, so the answer is yes, it would be published today.

Struggle among races and personal journeys are not racism, which is prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized. So yeah, it would be published.

Depiction of events isn’t the same as espousing ideology. You know, there’s any amount of actual, real news happening out there in the big world. Funny you don’t have a problem with the repeated depictions of rape ascribed to Bentley. Or the fact this work you so sharply criticize is about a university coming to life.
