That's great, there's nothing like institutionalised ignorance to guarantee a compliant electorate

@Convivial I think its safe to add individualised ignorance, considering the recent electoral results in that state.😷

We went through this crap in the UK in the 1980s. Followed by a requirement in schools to have a daily act of worship, which literally everyone ignored. If the implications were not so serious for children it would be laughable. You can remove books from a library, but seriously how can you expect to 'ban' discussion about identity in a free society?

This is so dumb and I know I'm preaching to the choir but:
It makes no sense to ban such discussions at any age. If a kid is old enough to ask the question, they are old enough to get an age appropriate answer. If we normalize same sex relationships and gender identities of trans and non binary people we make it easier for the queer community and cis/straight people to coexist.
What are they afraid of? Like really?
The kids might "turn" into one of the queer folk?
Like, if being surrounded from birth by heteronormative people and behaviors and living in a society where being queer is often demonized and portrayed as dangerous, deviant, and/or evil wasn't enough to make me straight I'm pretty sure being told, "some people love other people from one gender and others are romantic with people of just some genders, no genders, or all genders" wasn't the catalyst.
