NPR politics goes on and on about the US railroad strike -. Why didn't they notice that the UK is having one, too?

As a media commentator and a bit of an armchair economist, I'm not sure it makes sense to vie for media attention for a strike that could wreck a nation's economy. The key is to find a reasonable compromise that doesn't give any side everything it wants, but doesn't cave into greed. It's all about moderation.

why should we Yanks be interested?
Could be wrong but I don't think the UK PM fucked over rail workers like the POTUS did in the US.
