There are principled people and there are not principled people that basically are hippocrates.
It's most of his other principals that I have serious qualms with. He is a serious pusher for his and only his own beliefs. Not for the majority of the country.
I can respect someone that stands up for his own principles. Not that I can agree with those same principles.
This is not true with the Trumpet crowd though. They simply are not republicans in the slightest. They have absolutely no principles. And why that riot happened to begin with.
Yet they still call themselves conservatives as well as republicans.

He's also prejudice, has shown bias in his public policy and would easily erase the rights of minority groups if given the chance.

You can be as mild, reasonable and mannered as you like, but when you want to invalidate and morally condemn who others are, who they love and what they do in their own lives, you might as well wear a black hat.
