I'm in America. I know. I know a person in England who is a big Trump supporter. WTF?

@WonderGirl1 Well to be fair the UK has the EDL which is basically British MAGA. lol

@WonderGirl1 It's because England doesn't have a democracy where dissenting views are allowed.
Over here, you can't say anything controversial and you can't challenge the establishment and "win."
The Conservative Party, for example, are only fiscally conservative. I haven't seen any other conservative party care so little for traditional values and social conservatism.

ididntknow · 51-55, M
I think it’s because outsiders can see what’s going on in America and can’t believe how stupid the people that voted for Biden and the democrats are, And just wonder when the rest of America will wake up to how America is being destroyed from within
@ididntknow one of those? Lol…yea I’m one of those that knew Mexico wouldn’t pay for a wall.

Ikr. You'd think some of these people were American based on their posts. They'd fit right in tho since there's a ton of uninformed people here as well
akindheart · 61-69, F
what is bad is when NON americans make posts about OUR politics. i can't point to a country that is not having problems. My son lives in Europe. he always touts how good his country is but they are having problems big time with guess what? illegals.
@akindheart Illegal immigrants -- often either political or economic asylum seekers -- are flooding to every country in the West, not just America. Anyone who watches the overseas news channels would know that.
If Americans consider freedom of speech a basic human right, then foreigners commenting on American issues should not be a problem. After all, almost everything America does on a national scale has impacts on most other countries around the world.
For instance, if America significantly reduces its carbon dioxide and methane emissions that is a reduction of 20% of the total for global warming.
If America ceases to buy from China, China's profits plunge but other countries who get that trade prosper.
There is no aspect of culture, politics, economics or social welfare across the globe that is not affected by US activities and relationships.
If one is going to claim that foreigners shouldn't comment on matters American, one might as well say neighbours have no right to comment on how their neighbour's behaviour affects them.
Further, I'd say at least 50%-80% of people on this site are US citizens. Since many of the questions are on American issues, a rule against comments by foreigner would significantly reduce their opportunities to participate here. Might as well ask the moderators of the site to ban us - and there goes a good chunk of their advertising revenue.
Americans do sometimes comment of matters overseas and we foreigners don't mind. Although, to be fair, most Americans seem to act and live as though other countries are too distant to care about.

@akindheart Europe is being overwhelmed by illegals from North Africa and the Middle East. At least we feel somewhat comfortable with our illegals. At least I do, and as do our historic Mexcan-American communities. The heartlands have have a long history of Spanish speaking people that dates back to the old railroad days.
Much of Europe's experience seems a far greater collision of cultures, more frightening than what I feel here. We have had contacts over the years with refugee groups from Africa, Indonesia and the Middle East, and it's like we are 100+ years apart. We can't even name their foods, and our food turns their stomachs. Communication is through interpreters. In the US, we are just dealing with small pockets; in Europe it looks more like an invasion.

akindheart · 61-69, F
@Heartlander yes i see your points. unfortunately, there are no pockets where i live. they have taken over entire parts of towns. they have their own supermarkets and everything is now in spanish. they don't even attempt to speak English.

@LordShadowfire Why would I? I wouldn't trust any think you gave me. All you do is lie to please your simple little mind.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
Well, as a bit of an expert on global politics the thing you have to remember is everyone is literally in everyone's business when it comes to commentary about individual nations. For example, you don't necessarily have to be Ukrainian to have a defined position on the sanctity Ukrainian sovereignty.
Perhaps you might say, well leave the commenting to us experts, but really we all live on the same planet and issues in one country often trigger events in other countries. I for one appreciate hearing what the populace is thinking. It's good food for thought and helps me tailor my analysis and evaluation to the broader audience.

LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@MarkPaul And yet I've never seen any evidence to the effect that what you're saying right now is true. What's the first rule of journalism? Can anybody quote it? This is an open question for literally anybody reading this thread.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@LordShadowfire Well, I have my sources.

I live only a couple hundred miles from their border. And the US has had official battle plans to invade Canada as recently as 1938. And that is just what has been declassified. Heck confederation was the result of our leaders being concerned the American Civil War would not stay on their side of the border. So when a country that has invaded us in the past gets taken over by nutjobs who talk about "liberating" Canada and Australia, have the most powerful military in the world right now and more guns than people. It pays to pay attention.
Fairydust · F
I take an interest in the world politics, I never used to but with all the BS going on.

@Ceinwyn most presidents have been put in place on purpose and are related, they come from royal bloodlines from Europe, it’s no coincidence they are in power.
The WEF have control of nearly all governments worldwide, it’s all linked. That effects us all, the plans they have and the control they have over us.

Maybe this helps
“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

American politics is more interesting.
pdockal · 56-60, M
@SW-User maybe but most who don't live here aren't qualified to disparage and make negative comments
SW-User
@pdockal That's like saying people who don't live in Russia can't make disparaging comments about that country.
Nonetheless, I *would* say that many non-Americans with liberal politics are very misguided when they criticize the U.S. An example would be their reaction to the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Whether abortion is legal in every state or not is irrelevant to them.
